The purpose of this study is to examine how two Muslim feminists perceive themselves to betreated by the Swedish majority society and within the secular feminist movement. Thesurvey was conducted using qualitative method with a total of two interviews. For the study'stheoretical perspectives, I have used postcolonialism and Postcolonial feminism. The result ofthe survey and the analysis show that the informants say that they face an image of Muslimwomen as considered being under oppression. The informants believe that this stereotypicalimage has its origin from the colonial period.

This essay looks to examine the view on religious and non-religious people thoughts on the possible relationship between feminism and religion. The essay in itself relies on semi structured interviews conducted with five informants where focus has been centered on the informants main thoughts on the subject. The theoretic basis of the study is found in post-structuralistic feminism and intersectionalism. The goal of this essay is to analyse how women belonging to a right wing political discourse talk about feminism and equality. This analysis will be used to determine if right wing feminism exists. The analysis is based on Laclau and Mouffe´s  discourse theory as the primary base. The focus is articulation, antagonism and hegmony; the central terms of Laclau and Moffe´s theroy. The material consists of five interviews with representatives of women wings of liberal political in Sweaden; Liberala kvinnor, Centerkvinnor and Moderatkvinnor.The study shows that there are different opinions regarding feminism in the liberal political discouse, and that those opinions have an antagonistic relationship.

This is an interview based qualitative case study on two Women's Migrant Associations in Malmoe, which I interpret as being part of a women's movement, with characteristics of a new social movement. The aim of this study is to get a deeper understanding on how the collective identity is being constructed, in this women's movement where the membership is not based on an exclusive ethnic identity.I make a two dimensional analysis that departs from a social constructivist underpinning, including the theories Transversial Politics, Postcolonial feminism and New Social Movement Theory.First I analyze the construction of collective identity from the external social and cultural context, and get confirmed that the collective identity of the movement is based on a common experience of social exclusion and a plurality of actions that aims to fight the structural injustices based on gender and ethnic discrimination. Secondly I analyze how the collective identity is being constructed and maintained from the interactions between the members of the movement, from an understanding of Transversial Politics. My findings show that the members of the movement interact in a participatory democratic way which generally corresponds to Transversial Politics. According to Transversial Politics this can lead to a construction of an empowered inclusive collective identity for the members and as my empirical study confirms it also means possibilities for deconstruction of boundaries between social groups..

AbstractThis literal review intended to assess and shed light upon if west-centric feminism justifiesthe neoliberal globalization that reproduces the reproduction of inequality in the world.The result indicated that sex is not sufficient to categorize a universal group of women andthat other aspects of social structures such as class, caste, ethnicity, race, religion and ageshould be included in transnational feminism, and that this discourse needs to becharacterized by contextual understanding of culture and power. Neoliberalism has createdspace for personal freedom and choice, but all do not possess the same conditions to utilisetools to attain positive progress in regard to these choices. Furthermore, this study hasrevealed that feminism is subordinate to the globalization of neoliberalism and that thepost-feminist trend could be perceived as being discrepant with a progressive transnationalfeminist movement..

Surrogacy is an arrangement in which a woman carries, delivers, and then relinquishes a baby to commissioning parents. The arrangement challenges traditional norms and definitions of reproduction, pregnancy and motherhood, and at the same time raises difficult ethical, philosophical and social questions. There is currently an ongoing debate in Sweden, where all forms of surrogacy is illegal. The debate is polemical and harsh, with advocates arguing that surrogacy is defensible on the basis of individual rights and women's right to choose over their own bodies, and those in opposition are convinced on an intersectional basis that women are being used and exposed on the market of surrogacy.The purpose of this study is to investigate the debate on surrogacy in the Swedish context. Using qualitative text analysis, the study aims to increase understanding about the debate over surrogacy by analyzing texts published in Swedish press during 2010-2013.

I denna uppsats presenteras och diskuteras Virginia Woolfs förstavågs- feminism genom en analys av The Voyage Out, Mrs Dalloway och A Room of One's Own. Analysen sker genom en närläsning av texterna, men även tidigare gjorda analyser används. Woolfs texter sätts här i relation till det tidiga 1900-talets patriarkala engelska samhälle, suffragettrörelsen men även Woolfs litterära- och yrkesmässiga liv är av betydelse. Resultatet blir en kvalitativ läsning där fokus ligger på tidig feminism och Woolfs kamp för kvinnans rätt till ett självständigt liv..

Den övergripande frågeställningen som besvaras i uppsatsen är hur journalistiken i Dagens Nyheter och Göteborgs Posten handskas med informationen om vänsterpartiets och socialdemokraternas feministiska politik mellan år 1998 och år 2002.Studien har visat att de vanligaste argumenten emot socialdemokraternas feminism oftast är kopplade till partiets ledare Göran Persson. Journalistiken framställer socialdemokraternas feminism som ett spel i och med att Göran Persson uppges vara en ofrivillig feminist.I de fall där det framkommer argument för socialdemokraternas feminism är argumenten dubbelbottnade och innehåller oftast en outtalad kritik av mot partiets feminism eller bristen på en feministisk politik. De vanligast förekommande argumenten som journalistiken förmedlar för socialdemokraternas feminism handlar om att de vill förändra en tidigare förd politik. En politik som socialdemokraterna själva anser har missgynnat kvinnorna.Journalistiken förmedlade en mycket positiv bild av vänsterns feminism och det fanns mycket få argument emot deras feminism. Argumenten handlade om att feminismen var ett spel.  Det fanns ett mycket stort antal argument för vänsterns feminism och vänstern lyckades väl med att föra ut partiets feministiska politik genom journalistiken.

This thesis focuses on politically active women within The Swedish Social Democratic Women?s Association, also known as S-women. By applying discourse analysis to interviews with active s-women and to meeting conversations between the association?s members, the study approaches ideas of feminism, feminist politics and political commitment. ?Solidarity? ? the central concept of the labour movement ? serves as the point of departure for a feminist discussion about class, gender, ethnicity and age/generation.

Detta examensarbete lyfter fram feminism i relation till socialt arbete. Mitt syfte var att se huruvida feminism är en del av den könsseparatistiska missbruksvården. Uppsatsen fokuserar på fem utländska kvinnors tankar och erfarenheter kring feminism och jämlikhet. Genom att intervjua dessa kvinnor individuellt och praktisera på en kvinnoorganisation, försöker jag analysera kvinnornas förhållningssätt till den underordning som tilldelas dem av västerländsk feminism.Resultatet visar att kvinnorna alltid är tvungna att förhålla sig till dessa tillskrivna beskrivningar samt att detta även påverkar deras självbild. De ifrågasätter västerländska feministers etnocentrism. De känner ofta att deras tidigare erfarenheter försummas och att man endast ser de som ?passiva offer?..
